A global business process management leader with over 2,500 remote US workers using VDI, faced rising cloud costs and performance issues. The client sought to transition from a fully cloud-based VDI environment to a hybrid-ready, on-premises solution to meet the growing demands of cost optimization, scalability, and security. The goal was to enhance efficiency while maintaining reliability and user satisfaction.
Anunta successfully migrated the client from a cloud-based VDI to a hybrid-ready, on-premises infrastructure. However, the migration process presented several challenges.
Anunta proposed two migration options:
We have built a resilient on-premises VDI environment (4 vCPUs, 16GB RAM, 150GB storage per user) with N+1 architecture across a 16-server cluster.
Anunta integrated the client’s existing cloud-based VDI control plane with the new on-premises infrastructure, ensuring continuity without disrupting the user experience. To minimize any potential impact on employees, Anunta implemented a phased migration approach, gradually moving users to the new system while consistently testing and making adjustments along the way.
Additionally, close collaboration with the client’s IT team ensured that any issues were addressed immediately. The entire system underwent rigorous User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate performance and reliability.
Anunta also designed a hybrid cloud architecture to scale workloads between on-premises and cloud environments. Proactive autoscaling was implemented, along with secure internet routing, MFA, and endpoint validation. Existing security tools were integrated into the new solution.
